Notes: "Bretonne Assise Face A La Cheminee", was painted by Edouard Leon Cortes, circa 1910-1920. The painting is signed lower left, Edouard Cortes. It is an intimate glimpse into the life in Brittany during the first part of the 20th century. Cortes captures a woman and her cat sitting in front of her fire place surrounded with her personal belongings and cooking utensils.
