Notes: "L'Arc de Triomphe et l'avenue Friedland" by Edouard Leon Cortes, is signed lower right Edouard Cortes. The painting is on unlined canvas; minor frame abrasions along extreme edges; stretcher creases along all four edges; surface grime/discolored varnish layer; under UV exam, appears to be scattered dots of in-painting along extreme edges to address frame wear, a minor touchup in sky near tips of trees at upper right, as well as spots of overpaint in man and woman by tree and street stand at left, in carriage driver and horse in foreground, carriage in background, and in the three largest figures at far right.
