Notes: "La Porte Saint-Denis (# 6)", was painted by Edouard Leon Cortes. By using gouache as a medium, Cortes was able to capture this wonderful scene plein-aire because of the quick drying time. Like other early gouache paintings, it is signed lower right, Ed. Cortes, and inscribed verso.
