Notes: "Paris Street Scene" by Edouard Leon Cortes, was painted circa 1955-1960. The painting is signed lower left, Edouard Cortes. The canvas is unlined and has no evidence of any conservation or restoration. Under UV examination nothing fluoresces. There is a film of overall surface grime commensurate with age and never having been cleaned. A very small dent, which does not break the weave of the canvas, is present in the upper right corner of the painting, above the building on the right edge. There is a small paint loss, linear in appearance, and about 1 inch in length in the extreme lower right corner under the signature. There are scattered accretions. Canvas is slightly loose in the stretcher. Framed Dimensions 23 X 27 Inches
