Notes: "Porte Saint-Denis, le soir", was painted by Edouard Leon Cortes, circa 1905-1910. The painting is signed lower right, Edouard Cortes. The painting is done on wax-lined canvas; there appears to be craquelure throughout; under UV exam, there appears to be scattered spots of inpainting in all four margins as well as a few spots scattered in sky and center of work, but an opaque varnish makes it difficult to read.
