Notes: "The Madeleine", by Edouard Leon Cortes, was painted in 1905. With its Greco-Roman design and dominant Corinthian columns, the Church of the Madeleine was a frequent and favorite subject of Edouard Cortes. The painting is in excellent condition; yellowing of original varnish. It is signed lower left, Edouard Cortes. NOTE: Copyright stamp, inventory #8258
